If you're playing pc offline, default location the character save files are saved is: This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Users > whatever your login is > Saved Games > Diablo 2. This is NOT the same location where the actual game is stored on the C: drive (which will be under program files).
To import offline characters in Diablo 2 Resurrected, you need to transfer the old Save files to the new game location. To do this you need to copy your old Diablo 2 save files, and paste them in " C:\Users\ (your user name)\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected " save location.
Start Diablo 2 Resurrected and make a new character. Save & Exit. Close game; Copy your corrupted character and new one to a test folder, and another time to a back up folder.
